ZF Aftermarket introduces Electric Axle Drive Repair Kits, extending portfolio for electric and hybrid vehicles in U.S. and Canada

ZF Aftermarket, a full systems aftermarket provider, has released 25 Electric Axle Drive Repair Kits for cars and SUVs in the U.S. and Canada (USC). The kits enable independent workshops to perform repairs without removing electric axle drives, making it faster and easier for shops to service electric vehicles. The new kits are among 45 new products ZF Aftermarket has recently released in the USC region.

The new drive kits expand ZF Aftermarket’s portfolio of products for electric and hybrid vehicles, which includes ZF Lifeguard e-Fluids and TRW Electric Blue brake pads, chassis components and air suspension compressors developed specifically for these vehicles.

With the new e-drive kits, workshops can carry out repairs including:

Replacing leaking coolant connections

Repairing defective parking locks

Changing speed or temperature sensors

Replacing drive shafts

ZF Electric Axle Drive Repair Kits contain all the spare parts and fastening elements for the needed repair. Removing the electric motor or the electric axle drive is not required; however, workshops must ensure that only qualified technicians with the proper training carry out the relevant work. High voltage training is required and is available from ZF Aftermarket.

“Repair shops are seeing more electric cars and need spare parts to service them. As one of the leading producers of electric drives worldwide, ZF is now making its products available to the independent aftermarket in our region. We are excited to launch these specially compiled kits for 25 repair scenarios on electric axle drives,” said Mark Cali, Head of Independent Aftermarket, USC for ZF Aftermarket.

With few moving parts, electric motors incur less wear than traditional combustion engines; however, drive system repairs are sometimes needed after years of use. Additionally, drive components can be damaged by dirt or corrosion of contact points, loss of sealing, incidental damage or accidents.

The 25 Electric Axle Drive Repair Kits from ZF Aftermarket are available to order. The exact contents of the individual repair kits and all vehicle models for which they are available can be viewed in the ZF Aftermarket Online Product Catalog. ZF Aftermarket plans to introduce more repair kits for various vehicle manufacturers in the future.

In addition to the repair kits, ZF Aftermarket recently introduced 10 new part numbers for TRW Brake Pads, extending coverage to more than 2 million more vehicles in operation. They are among the 255 new products that ZF Aftermarket has introduced for passenger vehicles in the USC region in 2024, including numerous parts under the ZF, LEMFÖRDER, SACHS, TRW and WABCO brands.
