In a world where innovation often collides with complexity, Prerna Singla has carved a unique path by blending engineering precision with entrepreneurial passion. As the Founder and Managing Partner of Vive Cosmetics and Mefoh Healthcare, Prerna is redefining third-party manufacturing in the beauty and wellness sectors. With a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and hands-on experience in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, she identified the industry’s biggest gaps — lack of transparency, scalability, and trust — and set out to solve them. In this exclusive interview with Machine Edge Global, Prerna shares the spark that ignited her entrepreneurial journey, the hurdles she overcame in a male-dominated sector, and how she’s building not just businesses, but ecosystems that empower brands and people alike.
From launching Vive Cosmetics to establishing Mefoh Healthcare, your entrepreneurial journey is truly inspiring. What was the spark that led you to start your own venture in manufacturing?
My journey began with a simple but powerful idea — to create a reliable, scalable manufacturing ecosystem for beauty and wellness brands in India. With a background in mechanical engineering and experience across pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, I saw how fragmented and opaque the manufacturing process could be. I wanted to change that. Vive Cosmetics was born out of the need to provide high-quality, affordable, and transparent manufacturing solutions to emerging and established brands alike. Mefoh Healthcare followed as a natural extension, bringing Ayurvedic wisdom and modern science together in wellness products that truly make a difference.
Third-party manufacturing is a highly competitive space. What were some of the biggest challenges you faced while building Vive Cosmetics from the ground up?
Trust was the biggest hurdle. In an industry where credibility is everything, convincing brands to partner with a new player wasn’t easy. We also had to overcome operational challenges like raw material disruptions, navigating regulatory compliance, and maintaining consistency as we scaled. But what kept us going was our clarity of purpose. We didn’t just want to be another factory, we wanted to be a growth partner. And that mindset has made all the difference.
What makes Vive Cosmetics and Mefoh Healthcare stand out in such a crowded industry?
Three things: end-to-end support, trend-forward innovation, and uncompromising quality. At Vive, we don’t just manufacture — we co-create. We help brands with everything from formulation and packaging to market insights and compliance. Our GMP-certified facilities and stringent quality checks ensure that every product we make is export-ready and globally competitive. Mefoh Healthcare, on the other hand, is where tradition meets innovation. We take ancient Ayurvedic principles and elevate them through science to create wellness products that are effective, clean, and aligned with what today’s consumers are actually looking for, we give end to end support to the companies looking at third-party manufacturing.
You’re one of the few women leading from the front in India’s manufacturing sector. What has your experience been like in a male-dominated industry?
It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it. There were times when I walked into meetings and people assumed I wasn’t the decision-maker. But rather than let that discourage me, I used it as fuel. I also made a conscious decision to create a space where women are at the forefront. Today, both Vive and Mefoh have a majority-women workforce. Our factory floors, R&D teams, and operations are led by incredibly capable women, and the men in our team are wonderful allies in building an inclusive culture.
What advice would you give to other women who want to break into manufacturing or start their own ventures?
Start small, but think big. You don’t need to know everything before you begin. Just be curious, be hands-on, and surround yourself with people who believe in your vision. Learn your processes, understand your numbers, and never underestimate the power of resilience. Don’t be afraid of failure — every setback is a setup for something greater. And most importantly, believe that you belong in any room you walk into.
What are your expansion plans for Vive Cosmetics and Mefoh Healthcare?
We’re scaling in every sense — not just in reach, but in our manufacturing capabilities too. At Vive Cosmetics, our production infrastructure has expanded significantly to serve both established brands and emerging businesses with equal efficiency. With advanced equipment, stringent quality protocols, and a skilled team, we’re manufacturing high-performance cosmetic products that meet global standards. We’re also actively exploring international partnerships to take our proprietary formulations to new markets. Meanwhile, at Mefoh Healthcare, we’re launching a scientifically backed range of Ayurvedic wellness products, developed in collaboration with reputed institutions. Our commitment to clean, effective, and transparent manufacturing practices remains at the core of everything we do, as we continue to support and empower other businesses on their growth journeys.
