Taural India Advances Sustainability Drive with Low-Carbon Aluminium and Innovative Green Casting Process

Pune: As global industries navigate the shift toward sustainable manufacturing, Taural India, a leading integrated aluminium foundry, announced the strengthening of its sustainability vision. The company is adopting Vedanta Aluminium’s low-carbon Restora aluminium and planning to integrate an innovative green sand-casting process at its upcoming facility in Supa, Ahilyanagar. These strategic initiatives reflect Taural India’s long-term commitment to promoting indigenization, import substitution, and building a globally competitive, sustainable industrial ecosystem in India.

“At Taural India, sustainability is not just a strategic imperative; it is integral to how we operate. Serving customers across more than 10 countries and multiple critical sectors, we recognize the responsibility that comes with delivering high-performance engineering solutions. By adopting low-carbon aluminium and pioneering green sand casting, we are taking deliberate steps to reduce our environmental footprint while contributing to India’s industrial capabilities and long-term growth,” said Bharat Gite, Managing Director & CEO of Taural India.

As the world pivots toward sustainable technologies, aluminium has emerged as a key enabler, offering lightweight, strong, and fully recyclable solutions essential for energy-efficient applications. Vedanta’s Restora low-carbon aluminium is produced using renewable energy and advanced cleaner technologies, achieving up to 80% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional aluminium. This makes it a strategic material for industries striving to meet rising global and domestic sustainability regulations while reducing dependence on imports.

Complementing this material advancement, Taural India’s planned green sand-casting process marks a significant innovation in foundry practices. The new process will incorporate natural, biodegradable binders and advanced reclamation techniques. This enables multiple cycles of sand reuse with minimal treatment, further reducing resource dependency and environmental impact, while setting a new standard for sustainable manufacturing in India.

Beyond these initiatives, Taural India has consistently integrated sustainability into its operations. The company employs energy-efficient technologies, including natural gas-based melting and battery-operated forklifts, and implements comprehensive waste management and water conservation practices.

These deliberate steps reflect Taural India’s commitment to reimagining how components are designed, manufactured, and integrated into sectors critical to India’s future such as defence, aerospace, healthcare, and energy. At a time when industries face increasing regulatory and market pressures to decarbonize, Taural India’s pioneering actions are shaping a greener, more self-reliant industrial future for India.
