Taural Strengthens India’s Aluminium Manufacturing Ecosystem with Supa Facility

Supa: Taural India commissioned its second aluminium sand casting manufacturing facility in India, located in Supa, Maharashtra, following its first plant in Pune. The facility was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, marking a significant expansion of India’s advanced manufacturing capability in aluminium casting and a major industrial development for the region.

Spread across 30 acres, the Supa facility substantially augments Taural India’s production capacity and strengthens the company’s ability to serve both domestic and international markets. Designed to meet global engineering and sustainability benchmarks, the plant integrates automation, digital process controls, and advanced quality systems to manufacture complex, high-tolerance aluminium components for sectors such as defence, mobility, energy, aerospace, marine, railways, and industrial infrastructure.

Beyond manufacturing scale, the Supa project represents a meaningful boost to the local economy and regional employment landscape. As operations scale, the facility is expected to generate over 1,200 direct employment opportunities, with additional indirect benefits across logistics, services, and local supply ecosystems. The plant contributes to the broader need for industrial growth in Tier II and Tier III regions, reducing migration pressures on metros while creating stable, skill-based career pathways closer to home.

The project was initiated following a Memorandum of Understanding signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2025 and has moved from investment intent to full-scale operations within a year, underscoring Maharashtra’s growing credibility as a destination where global manufacturing commitments translate into timely execution on the ground.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Taural India’s journey stands as a powerful example of how Indian entrepreneurs can build globally competitive, world-class manufacturing enterprises rooted in innovation, partnerships, and purpose. Facilities such as Supa also play an important role in driving growth beyond metro cities and supporting the state’s long-term economic ambitions.”

Bharat Gite, Founder and CEO, Taural India, added, “This facility represents the next phase of our manufacturing journey in India. It strengthens indigenous aluminium casting capability, creates skilled employment in regional markets, and demonstrates that Indian enterprises can build and scale high-precision manufacturing at global standards while contributing meaningfully to local communities.”

From a global manufacturing perspective, Lothar Thoni, JV Partner, Taural India and Owner, Thoni Alutec, said, “India is increasingly central to global manufacturing strategies. Facilities like Supa show how global engineering standards and local execution can come together to build sustainable manufacturing capability at scale, a model that international manufacturers can confidently invest in.”

The Supa facility reinforces Maharashtra’s position as a competitive manufacturing hub while aligning with the state’s broader economic vision and India’s ambition to deepen participation in global supply chains. As worldwide demand grows for lightweight, efficient, and recyclable materials such as aluminium, investments in advanced industrial infrastructure and regional manufacturing ecosystems will remain critical drivers of long-term economic growth, employment generation, and export competitiveness.
