Hyderabad: Xbattery, a Hyderabad-based deep-tech startup specialising in next-gen energy storage and Battery Management Systems (BMS), launched the XB-5K today; a 5kWh scalable home and office energy storage system. The XB-5K is built on the startups indigenously developed BharatBMS platform, India’s first indigenously developed universal high-voltage BMS architecture designed to counter import dependence from China and offer superior after sales servicing.
As per reports China still holds more than 40% of the market share for BMS imports into India and 60% of the global export market valued at. XB-5K, weighing just 37kg, delivers up to 5kWh of reliable backup power for electronics and appliances including air conditioners for up to 24 hours. The simple to install plug-and-play system acts like an advanced home powerbank, integrated with data analytics, specially designed to efficiently power homes and small offices, utilising highest-quality lithium iron phosphate cells for long life and stable performance. XB-5K is a portable, safe and certified energy storage system for everyday use.
As per Energy Statistics India 2025, India’s energy supply grew 7.8%, with transmission and distribution losses improving. However, regular power outages still persist, disrupting households and business operations. Satish Reddy, Cofounder & CEO of Xbattery, said that, “Power outages still affect India’s growing economic productivity. An indigenously developed and affordable energy storage ecosystem is a necessity for the sustainable development of India. It’ll increase productivity, reduce import dependence, and simultaneously capitalise on export opportunities. We’re building the complete value chain from the ground up inspired by the simplicity of plugging a phone into a powerbank.”
BharatBMS enables the XB-5K with features like intelligent AI& ML enabled modes for pre-emptive outage response, real-time state of charge monitoring to prevent overcharging, adaptive cell balancing, and advanced thermal management, to extend battery life by up to 15%, and cutting costs through indigenous design, manufacturing and servicing.
“We’ve built from the ground up focused on real-time analytics, remote diagnostics, and automatic upgrades, exceeding global benchmarks. This marks our foray into rivaling world-class BMS and BESS tech. The in-house architecture adapts seamlessly to a host of diverse energy needs, from homes to EVs and offices to factories”, added Sonu Mishra, Cofounder and CTO, Xbattery.
Xbattery recently raised USD 2.3 million in seed funding directed to further enhance its R&D, design and manufacturing to capitalise on India’s USD 150-200 billion energy storage opportunity.
