The Zimmer Group is pleased to announce the opening of its new production facility at its headquarters in Rheinau. The modern new building, which will be inaugurated at the beginning of July, will expand the Zimmer Group’s capacity by an additional 5,000 square meters and provide the newly founded subsidiary Zimmer Systems GmbH with ideal conditions for further growth.
“With the new building in Rheinau, we will meet the increasing global demands,” said the shareholders Günther Zimmer and Martin Zimmer, owners and managing directors of the Zimmer Group. The strategically favorable location in the immediate vicinity of the company’s other technology divisions – including handling technology, damping technology, robotics, vacuum technology, clamping and braking technology, as well as machine technology and industrial communication – enables optimal logistical connections and efficient production processes.
The new plant now offers sufficient space to develop and realize complex automation solutions. “The newly founded Zimmer Systems GmbH aims to grow significantly in five technology areas, including system components, gripping and transport systems, mobile robotics, cells and modules, and complete machines and systems,” says Thomas Seeger, Managing Director of Zimmer Systems GmbH.
The expansion of production capacity at the Rheinau site is an important milestone in the Zimmer Group’s continuous growth strategy. The company, which was founded over 40 years ago and now has over 1,300 employees at 17 locations worldwide, has been pursuing a consistent expansion course for years. “The strong increase in global demand in almost all product areas requires a comprehensive and global expansion strategy for the coming years in order to further develop the enormous potential in Europe, Asia and America as quickly as possible,” explains Achim Gauss, Managing Director of Technology and Sales.
Following the expansions in China and India a few weeks ago, this is already the third new building of the Zimmer Group to be put into operation this year. With the opening of the new plant in Rheinau, the Zimmer Group is not only creating new production capacities, but also new jobs in the region. This underlines the company’s global commitment to grow not only internationally, but also locally and to strengthen the regional economy. The new production facilities give the Zimmer Group the freedom to further expand its innovative strength and offer its customers leading technological solutions across all industries.
