Hindustan Power Commences Work on 435 MWp Solar Power Project in Lalitpur, Accelerating Uttar Pradesh’s Renewable Energy Drive

Lucknow: Hindustan Power, one of India’s leading integrated power generation companies, today announced the commencement of its 435 MWp solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, during the Clean Energy Summit 2025. The summit, themed ‘Uttar Pradesh- Powering a USD 1 Trillion Economy through Renewable Energy,’ is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Northern Region, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) at Hotel Hyatt, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

This 435 MWp Solar Power project is a big step forward for the state, supporting Uttar Pradesh’s goal of reaching 22,000 MW of renewable energy by 2026–27, reinforcing the state’s shift toward clean and reliable energy sources. Awarded by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited through a fair and competitive process in April 2025, the project will supply clean electricity to the state for the next 25 years. Beyond providing green energy, this initiative will create new jobs and help drive sustainable growth in the local community.

Mr. Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power, said, “With the Lalitpur project office now open, our teams are eager to start, and we look forward to working with the local community as we move ahead with this solar initiative.”

With the project office operational, Hindustan Power will begin mobilization activities, including site development, workforce engagement, and coordination with stakeholders. The Lalitpur solar project is a key part of Hindustan Power’s ongoing work to grow renewable energy across India, highlighting the company’s emphasis on timely project delivery and building lasting collaborations. This initiative also supports the company’s goal of reaching a 5 GW clean energy portfolio, further contributing to India’s transition to sustainable power sources
