Bridgestone India Inaugurates Nature Interpretation Centre at Its Kheda Plant to Promote Biodiversity Education

Indore: Bridgestone India inaugurated a Nature Interpretation Centre at its Butterfly Garden located within the company’s Kheda Plant, reinforcing its commitment to biodiversity conservation and environmental education.

The Nature Interpretation Centre is an eco-friendly mud house designed to enhance biodiversity learning. It features immersive three dimensional models, interactive smart boards and an educational resource area equipped with books, herbariums and training materials. The Centre host workshops, awareness programs, and community engagement initiatives, making it a hub for nature-based learning. Recently, the site welcomed over 70 students from five local schools, offering hands-on exposure to biodiversity and environmental conservation.

The Centre is located at the 1.23-acre Bridgestone Butterfly Garden Enriched with over 7,000 native plants, the garden supports a thriving ecosystem of butterflies, birds, reptiles, mammals, and other pollinators. An evaluation by the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) highlights the garden’s ecological success with butterfly species increasing from 44 to 68 and bird species from 40 to 46 since its inception. Several of these bird sightings are first-time records for the Kheda region.

The Bridgestone Butterfly Garden and the new Nature Interpretation Centre together exemplify how industry and nature can coexist harmoniously, advancing Bridgestone’s vision of sustainable growth and community impact.
