Mercedes-Benz deepens it’s India commitment with the local production of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS

Pune: India’s most desirable luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today announced strong sales performance for 2025, buoyed by the success of the core segment and overwhelming demand for its Top-End Vehicles, including the AMGs and the BEV portfolio. Mercedes-Benz products across the portfolio were able to retain customer preference and loyalty.  

Highlights 2025 Sales Performance:

• Mercedes-Benz India delivered 19,007 units in CY 2025 (19,565 units in CY 2024). Best-ever year in terms of revenue.

• Top-End Vehicles (TEV) portfolio comprising the exclusive S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach and AMG demonstrated exceptional resilience with 11% yoy growth, and 25% sales penetration

• The high-performance AMG portfolio grew by a strong 34% yoy, reflecting the growing aspiration for the wide range of AMG performance vehicles    

• Mercedes-Benz India’s BEV portfolio sustained the growth momentum with 12% yoy growth, while comprising 20% of all top-end Mercedes-Benz sold in India

• 70% of all Mercedes-Benz BEVs sold in 2025 belong to the top-end segment, priced between Rs. 1.25 crore to 3.1 crore. Top-end BEVs comprise the EQS SUV, EQS Sedan, Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and the Mercedes-Benz G580

• Long wheelbase E-Class continued to outsell its category, retaining strong customer loyalty, being ‘India’s most desired and highest selling luxury car’

• The EQS SUV remains Mercedes-Benz’s highest selling luxury BEV in India    

• Entry luxury, Core and Top-End contributed 13%, 62% and 25% respectively to the overall CY 2025 sales volume 

• Mercedes-Benz sedan portfolio contributed strongly to sales with sustained demand for the C-Class, LWB E-Class, S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class limousines

• Robust performance from the SUV segment buoyed by rising demand for the entire portfolio comprising GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS, Mercedes-Maybach GLS and the iconic AMG G63 SUV

• Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Entry Luxury’ portfolio witnessed a decline of 20% year-over-year, taking down the share to 13% of overall volumes. This is in line with the brand’s strategy of not compromising product substance or participating in price competition in the market.

Mercedes-Benz to launch 12 new products in 2026

In 2026, Mercedes-Benz plans 12 new cars for India, including new models and some with no predecessor, in addition to launching facelifts. Many of these products will comprise Top End Vehicles and new BEVs.

This product extravaganza reiterates Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to cater to an evolving customer set that desires the best products, technology, and experiences. Mercedes-Benz will debut the much-awaited CLA BEV introducing MB.OS. 

Mercedes-Maybach GLS: Local Manufacturing of Ultra-Luxury SUV

Mercedes-Benz India has announced the start of local production of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS at its world-class manufacturing facility in Pune. This marks a significant milestone in the brand’s manufacturing capabilities in India, making India the first market outside USA to locally produce the ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

The decision reinforces India’s strategic importance as being among the Top 5 global markets for Mercedes-Maybach, witnessing increasing demand for top-end ultra-luxury vehicles. The local manufacturing initiative will enable faster delivery timelines and enhanced customer access to this pinnacle of craftsmanship on wheels.

Since its India debut in June 2021, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS has established itself as a highly aspirational SUV in the country, consistently witnessing strong demand from eminent customers looking for the ultimate Mercedes-Maybach experience in a luxurious SUV format. The ultra-luxurious vehicle is currently retailed in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) import.

MB.CHARGE Public: Unified Charging Ecosystem

Mercedes-Benz India launched the ‘MB.CHARGE Public’, a comprehensive digital service that provides all Mercedes-Benz EV customers across India with access to a unified charging network via the Mercedes-Benz app & RFID code. The service integrates multiple charging partners, offers real-time charger availability, seamless payment solutions and charging history tracking. Customers must activate ‘MB.CHARGE Public’ and ‘Display of charging station services’ via the Mercedes-Benz app or OneWeb portal with their existing Mercedes me ID.

MB.CHARGE Public is one of the largest and most established public charging networks in the world, giving Mercedes-Benz customers seamless access to a truly global charging ecosystem. With more than 350,000 active users and over 3.3 million charging points worldwide, the network has already proven its scale, reliability, and customer acceptance across multiple markets. Today, MB.CHARGE Public is available in 37 countries, offering widespread accessibility and a consistent charging experience wherever customers travel.

MB.CHARGE Public, provides the customers with a complete end-to-end integration flow, right from finding a charging point to the payment process, all in a single ecosystem. Customers can now charge their EV across 9000+ DC charging points in India, as Mercedes-Benz has partnered with multiple charge point operators including Jio BP, Chargezone, Chargemod, Zeon charging and all Mercedes-Benz dealership chargers.

The service offers convenient authentication options—via the Mercedes-Benz app, or with the MB.CHARGE Public RFID card—before charging. Exact prices per kilowatt-hour as well as the estimated cost to reach the maximum charge level are displayed. Each charging process is billed by a payment link automatically via SMS and e-mail after the charging session is completed. Customers can conveniently pay via all payment options including credit/debit cards, all UPI apps.

30 new luxury touchpoints in 2026

Mercedes-Benz India will enhance its presence with 15 new luxury touchpoints in 2026 in 3 new markets, and enhance 15 existing touchpoints according to new architecture standards. 

Mercedes-Benz Franchise Partners will continue to invest over Rs. 450 crore, ensuring the Mercedes-Benz retail network remains world-class.
