Surya Roshni Invests ₹16 Crore in 4 MWp Captive Solar Power Plants to Advance Sustainable Manufacturing

New Delhi: Surya Roshni Limited, one of India’s most trusted names in lighting, wires & cables, fans, home appliances, PVC pipes, water pumps, water tanks & steel pipes, has further strengthened its commitment towards sustainable manufacturing and environmental responsibility through the installation of captive solar power plants across three of its manufacturing facilities located at Malanpur (Madhya Pradesh), Kashipur (Uttarakhand), and Bahadurgarh (Haryana).

Aligned with the spirit of World Environment Day and the company’s long-term sustainability vision, the initiative marks a significant step towards increasing the use of renewable energy in Surya’s manufacturing operations and reducing its overall carbon footprint.

The solar power installations have a combined installed capacity of 4 MWp, with 1.5 MWp capacity each at the Kashipur and Malanpur facilities, and 1 MWp at the Bahadurgarh facility. The plants have been installed using a combination of shed and ground-mounted structures to ensure optimal energy generation and operational efficiency.

The installations are expected to generate approximately 18 lakh units annually each at Kashipur and Malanpur, while the Bahadurgarh facility is expected to generate around 12 lakh units annually. Together, the three solar power plants are projected to generate nearly 48 lakh units of clean energy every year.

The initiative is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 3,936 tonnes (~4,000 tonnes) of CO₂ annually, contributing meaningfully towards climate action and cleaner industrial operations.

The company has made an overall investment of approximately ₹16 crore towards this renewable energy initiative, reinforcing its focus on sustainable growth, energy efficiency, and responsible manufacturing practices.
