Bangalore: Voltanova, a pioneering deep-tech startup developing the breakthrough thermal battery energy storage system (BESS), announced today that it has secured grant funding from Zerodha, India’s leading financial services company, through the Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore.
The grant marks a major milestone for Voltanova as it accelerates its mission to decarbonize industrial energy and address one of the world’s largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions—responsible for nearly 30% of global CO₂ emissions.
“This grant isn’t just funding – it’s a powerful endorsement of our vision to make clean, high-temperature energy affordable and scalable for industries worldwide,” said Jaicky Kumar, Co-founder & CEO of Voltanova. “We’re honored to receive this support from Zerodha and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) as we push the boundaries of thermal energy storage innovation.”
“Industrial decarbonization is one of the toughest challenges of our time. With this support, we’re one step closer to provide sustainable, cost-effective energy for industries,” said Deepak Mishra, Co-founder & COO of Voltanova. “This grant helps us accelerate toward deploying our Thermal BESS and validating our technology at scale.”
Voltanova’s breakthrough thermal battery is designed to deliver 24/7 green energy to industrial applications, offering a long lifespan, modular design, and dramatically lower costs than existing solutions. With this new funding, Voltanova is poised to scale its solution, helping industries transition away from fossil fuels while boosting energy resilience and sustainability. The future of industrial heat is clean – and Voltanova is leading the way.
