Construction and Real Estate Hiring Remains Robust as Infrastructure Execution and Urban Development Drive Demand in HY1: TeamLease Employment Outlook Report

As per the latest TeamLease Employment Outlook Report, hiring in the construction and real estate sector remains strong, with Net Employment Change (NEC) at 5.9% in HY1 FY 2026–27, compared to 6.2% in the previous half-year. While 45% of employers expect to increase hiring, 30% expect no change, and 25% anticipate reductions, indicating stable workforce demand aligned with active project pipelines. These findings are based on a survey of 1,268 employers across 23 industries and 20 cities, conducted between November 2025 and January 2026.

Infrastructure Investments, Connectivity Projects, and Residential Demand Fuel Hiring

Hiring momentum is being driven by public infrastructure investments, transportation and connectivity projects, and continued demand across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Digital Site Management and PropTech Reshape Workforce Demand

Employers are increasingly prioritising roles across site engineering, project management, EPC execution, BIM design, procurement, digital construction technologies, and sales management.

Selective Hiring Reflects Technology Adoption and Operational Efficiency

While hiring remains positive, automation, digital project tracking, and lean execution models are enabling companies to optimise workforce structures.

Finance – 31%

Top Job Locations: The major hubs attracting telecom talent are:

 Bengaluru – 20%

 Mumbai – 19%

 Hyderabad – 16%

The projected yearly salary increment for the calendar year 2026 for the construction and real estate sector is 8.7%.
